Colo guns?

Post by teamdooracer » Sun Dec 02, 2012 10:23 pm

Are colo guns any good? I've never heard of them and it turns out that there is a place only 30 minutes from me that sells them?

I was thinking about Colo for a minute then I started thinking about Parts... $$$, Repairs... $$$, and how their not local or even regional. Chinese is okay but I think I like working the guys down the street here in the USA. 8-)

I bought a Colo rig. Then just as I got it set up a great deal on a new Wagner came up. The Colo went into the storage shed as a backup rig and hasn't seen daylight again since then ------------

I have been doing alot of searching and finally found a video clip of the COLO 800 figure it might be interesting to anyone looking to buy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oWsb6r9Wbk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Lots of powder more appear to stick to the part than go on ground.

Another video shows control box

http://colourspray.en.made-in-china.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Pretty sure I want to get one just not sure about feed system box, cup, or those big can style hoppers. I want something that works good and allows for easy color changes. The big hopper looks like alot of work, but will consider it if I get superior results.

Edit: Added a this video clip 7:09 shows control box http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDtdP6JC6ZY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Correct me if I am wrong, but it appears you can adjust the KV and amperage? Also has a few presets.

ROMER P.P 3 seconds in and pause. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FRpNhM41NE

Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks identical to the COLO 800.

One more http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vd3suGf2ECk

Are these tough Faraday areas?

I am also thinking to buy a Colo gun. Now I have a spectracoat ES02 but I think it is not the best gun...

Colo-800V (995usd) and Colo-Oti-B (Replica of the Gema optiflex) (1850 usd)

Anybody with experience of those guns?
