Does USA even make a gun?

Post by pavetim » Wed Dec 14, 2016 12:52 pm

Does the USA even make a gun? Ok correct me if I'm wrong here:
Wagner- switzerland
Gema- Switzerland
Nordson- Switzerland
Pretty much all others- China

See a trend all the best is made in Switzerland, usa could hold the market if they started making top quality pro guns.

A search on the net TELLS ALL :mrgreen:
http://www.parkerionics.com/about-us/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But the US might make the units? Call and ask.
All I have said is said just for meanness so I don't have to argue with anyone!

I read Parker is a subisdiary of some parkerizing company that's in Japan. Even onoda sounds Japanese. Sure they have distributors in the USA but are they usa made?

I wouldn't over think it , Parker ionics is quality coating equipment. Nothing good is actually built here in the US .

Parker Ionics is the US subsidiary for Nihon Parkerizing Co., LTD of Japan. Onoda was purchased by Nihon at some point and the name changed. I have a Parker and it's done fine for me. The GX355 control box states it's made in Japan. Not sure I ever looked at the gun however.

Even Gama at one time was owned by Illinois Tool Group and is now owned I believe by Graco, an American based company. I would bet parts for most any powder coating system are global sourced, no one manufacturer probably makes all the parts within any or them.

Graco owns gema? They own Wagner too don't they. Yeah I would be willing to bet the electronics are all made in China lol

Don't think so, Wagner Group is based in Germany. Graco was founded and is still based in Minneapolis.

Doing a little research, I found I misspoke on the previous post... Parker was not the one that "used to be" made in USA... it was Nordson... I knew it was one of them, and Just didn't remember it right... was sitting here thinking after reading other stuff on the forums... decided I'd rediscover what I should have stored in my brain in a better place... Nothing stays secure after you've had a stroke...

I believe it was Nordson that has moved the manufacture of it's products (mostly) to a foreign country in the last few years... They still do manufacture some of their powder stuff in the US, but the majority I believe is outsourced to maybe China... I cannot find the article I read about their stuff being built elsewhere... They are still based in Ohio though...
