Good afternoon. Fairly new to this site and fairly new to powder coating. I have been powder coating stuff without acid rinsing or cleaning much. I've just been using acetone as a cleaner after blasting. Then powder coating the items.
Now I'm starting to do jobs for customers and I'd like to do it the best of my ability. My questions are, I have access to phosphoric acid and trisodiumphosphate (tsp). Can I use one or both of those to get wheels prepared for Powder Coating.. I've read quite a bit but I don't see anything specifically pertaining to starting from scratch with phosphoric acid or tsp. Everything I see is buying stuff from a solution and going from there. Would really appreciate some answers and some guidance. Thank you in advance. Working out of my 2 car garage with barely any access to running water in the winter. If need be I can hook up a warm water line. It would be a lot of work but I'm willing to do it to make this process right.
