Re: Q on masking partial cures for 2nd coats/other colors

Indoor wall hanger. This was my first attempt at masking. I have some of the green/blue high temp masking tape, but only in 1/2" width. I'd read of people having good results with the blue painter's tape, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Looks like it's NOT the way I want to go! What's the best stu...

Re: Q on masking partial cures for 2nd coats/other colors

Yep... Hard line can't be avoided... Is it indoor/outdoor? placement? Indoor, I'd do whatever it takes to get the finished appearance right... Outdoors... Might take a different approach. But masking tape is essential. Gotta have the right stuff. I order from Eastwood as I like their blue high temp ...

Re: Q on masking partial cures for 2nd coats/other colors

Agreed... as long as Color Does NOT Have To be EXACTLY correct... you can even fully cure the base of an illusion or metallic and it will work... if this is decorative it will last forever anyway... if it's an exterior sign... all bets are off. ANY powder can be used indoors, and some are optimal st...

Re: Cleaning powder hose

^^^ This^^^ Single hose is a bigger problem than moisture in the lines in my estimation. I agree that simply buying hose in bulk and cutting a length for a specific color until you have them all covered is a much better idea in the grand scheme of things. At least buy a few for Dark and light and cl...

Re: Blast room filter cleaning torit style

I could see building your own with those tire Blaster Bead seating tanks and solenoids for each filter... The nozzle would be a trial and error thing, but I think even that is something I could figure out... Donaldson Filters are not the only ones out there for this application... but they build goo...

Re: What the Heck?

Probably be helpful if you gave a full prep list so that the culprit could be identified... DNA isn't exactly what I'd think *Caused* the issue, but it certainly didn't do anything to promote adhesion. It does nothing more than flush the surface of the part, helping to remove debris and greases that...

Issue with new EZ50

Drop the grounds off your hanging rod(gun ground clamp to hanging rod is not particularly necessary) and use only the ground rod ground to the part... whatever the means... it has been seen that , at times, there have been folks find other items grounded to their grounding rod can add interference f...

Re: Issue with new EZ50

Could be a variety of things, but if It was me I'd return for repair/replacement... If the EW gun is getting it... I'd think the EZ would do as well or better in most cases...

HIRING POWDER COATER IN MIAMI

Amen, WaYT... it's the same with almost every skill that doesn't require certification. Even then they figure out a way to keep people down. I have an Airfame and Power Plant cert, and low experience, for those reasons. They will hire one certified employee, and are allowed to have him sign off on n...

Re: New 600 degree Powder for Grills

Looked at this stuff lately? They seem to be selling powder to people now... instead of requiring the applicator licensing as they had before... I could be wrong, but that's how it looks... http://www.reflectionight.com/
